国際建築教育サミット(IAES)は、世界中の建築に関する教育機関の長を集めて、2009年から隔年で、東京、マドリッド、ベルリン、シンガポールの各都市で開催された、建築教育の未来についての対話のためのプラットフォームです。2013年9月13日から14日にかけてベルリンで開催された第3回国際建築教育サミット(IAES)では、ANCB The Metropolitan Laboratory、UCLA Architecture and Urban Design、IE School of Architectureの共同開催で行われました。カシオペア財団の支援を受けたこのサミットは、建築教育の新たな方向性を探ることを目的としていました。このシンポジウムでは、「オルタナティブな建築教育プラットフォームの役割」、「建築教育における学際的戦略」、「建築教育と非学術的パートナーとのコラボレーション」という3つのテーマ別パネルが行われ、重要な問題に焦点が当てられました。このサミットは、第一線で活躍する学者、実務家、政策立案者、産業界の代表者らによるダイナミックな議論の場を提供しました。その目的は、建築教育におけるアイデアを前進させ、その進化する性質と課題に取り組むために、建設的な対話を行うことでした。このサミットでは、建築の学習と実践の未来を形作る上で、学際的なアプローチ、代替的な教育プラットフォーム、学術団体と非学術団体間の協力的な取り組みの重要性が強調されました。
The International Architectural Education Summit (IAES) is a platform for dialogue on the future of architectural education that brings together heads of educational institutions on architecture from around the world and has been held every other year since 2009 in Tokyo, Madrid, Berlin, and Singapore. The 3rd International Architectural Education Summit (IAES) in Berlin was co-hosted by ANCB The Metropolitan Laboratory, UCLA Architecture and Urban Design, and IE School of Architecture. Supported by the Cassiopeia Foundation, the summit aimed to explore new directions in architectural education. The symposium featured three thematic panels, "The Role of Alternative Architectural Education Platforms," "Interdisciplinary Strategies in Architectural Education," and "Collaboration between Architectural Education and Non-Academic Partners," which focused on key issues. The summit provided a dynamic forum for discussion among leading scholars, practitioners, policy makers, and industry representatives. The goal was to engage in constructive dialogue to advance ideas in architectural education and address its evolving nature and challenges. The summit highlighted the importance of interdisciplinary approaches, alternative educational platforms, and collaborative efforts between academic and non-academic organizations in shaping the future of architectural learning and practice.
